...Classic Rock, Doggy Style...
DOGHOUSE are a powerful four-piece Rock band from Merseyside with a distinctive, instantly recognisable sound. The twin Les Pauls of Rob and Andy, combined with driving bass and powerhouse drumming from Pipe and Al and Rob's unique vocals, give their music a raw edge that has led to them being described as 'one of the few bands in the UK that play in a true classic rock style - with power, rhythm, melody and harmony'. The band has become well known on the biker rock circuit, headlining events such as the Welsh National Bike Show (2004 & 2005), British Grand Prix (Donington Park 2002), Anglesey Show (2001, 2002 & 2004) You've Been NABD (2003 & 2004), Speedfreaks Ball (Santa Pod 2004) and many more rallies and events throughout the country from Kent to County Durham. A particular favourite of the band was a support slot to The Quireboys at Stormin' the Castle in 2003. Over the last seven years DOGHOUSE have been successfully integrating their own original material into the set to the extent that their own songs - such as Free, Keep It Comin', She's Got Something, White Lines and Mr Clean - are now almost as well known on the circuit as the classic rock covers that built the band's initial live reputation. The impact of their own material led to the band being asked to submit a track for inclusion on the Powerplay Rock & Metal magazine CD in 2004 and also brought airplay on Pulse Radio and requests from satellite TV channels Scuzz and The Amp to supply a video to allow them to feature the band on their unsigned slots. The track that got the airplay was ‘White Lines’, one of the tracks from the three-track CD of the same name. The CD was recorded in November 2004 with Pete 'Pee Wee' Coleman (credits include AC/DC and Paradise Lost) as engineer and producer. Requests for the band's material have come in to the website from Russia, the USA and the Far East! Although the band took some time out for a year during 2007 (2008 is Rob’s and Andy’s tenth year in the band…) they’re still on the road and are writing and rehearsing new material again.
